Tây Nguyên, translated as Western Highlands, is one of the
regions of Vietnam. It contains the provinces of Đắk Lắk,
Đắk Nông, Gia Lai, Kon Tum, Lâm Đồng. It has a large
population of ethnic minorities such as as the people of
Malayo-Polynesian languages (Jarai and Ede) and the people
of Mon-Khmer languages (Bahnar and K'hor). Tay nguyen is the
home to most prominent and also most endangered species of
VietNam and Southeast asia: the indochinese tiger, the huge
gaur, the wild buffalo, the banteng and the asian elephant.

Đường sắt
Tuyến
đường sắt Tháp Chàm – Đà Lạt dài 84km được đưa vào khai thác
từ năm 1932. Năm 1976, Bộ Giao thông – Vận tải đã tháo gỡ
21km đường ray trên tuyến đường này để khôi phục tuyến đường
sắt Thống Nhất, từ đó tuyến đường này không còn hoạt động
nữa và dần bị phá bỏ.
Hiện nay,
ngành đường sắt đã khôi phục đoạn từ ga Đà Lạt đến Trại Mát
dài 8km phục vụ du lịch.
