Hue 's first deluxe Boutique hotel, La Residence Hotel & Spa by Accor, has recently opened. Nestled on the banks of the Perfume River , the graceful Art Deco building was once the residence of the French governor of Central Vietnam.

The 122 guests rooms have been designed with a combination of colonial charm, modern earthy shades and Asian opulence. River view bedrooms lead out onto deep, private terraces facing the former Imperial Citadel, a magnificent moated fortress protecting the Forbidden City , on the opposite bank.

The hotel's restaurant, Le Parfum, offers an elegant sense of colonial charm and space. Head Chef, Mike Drews, has brought together a team of local cooking talent to produce an impressive combination of Asian local and Western dishes.

The elegantly-designed 30 metre swimming pool is at river height giving the illusion of merging into the Perfume River beyond. It is the perfect spot for sipping an afternoon cocktail and watching the sun set over the river.

The spa is located in the hotel garden, a lovely setting for complete relaxation. Traditional Vietnamese massage is a specialty and a tempting range of indulgent international treatments is featured. The complex also includes a fitness centre and tennis courts.

The hotel's Art Deco meeting room can accommodate up to 140 persons seated in theatre style for conferences and seminars. Incentive groups and team-building events are also catered for by the hotel's expert team.
