A North Central province, Ha Tinh is located from 17053’50’’
to 18045’40’’ North latitude, and from 105053’50’’
to 106030’20’’ East longitude. Ha Tinh
borders Nghe An Province to the North, Quang Binh
Province to the South, the East Sea to the East and Laos
to the West.
Ha Tinh has located in tropical monsoon
zone and affected by transitional climate between
regions of the North and the South. The province has two
distinct seasons. The rainy season has storms, beginning
in August and ending in November. The rainfall in rainy
season is high, over 2,000 mm. The dry season lasts from
December to next July. At that time, it is dry,
scorching and has southwest wind from Laos. The high
evaporation rate can cause serious droughts.
The minerals resources of Ha Tinh Province
is relatively abundant and diversified like gold, titan,
mange, zinc, lead, tin, and so on. Thach Khe mine has
big reserves of 544 million tons. The province also has
Son Kim hot minerals spring.
The province’s forest and forestland covers an area of
300,000 hectares. Its wood reserves is of 21 million
cubic meters with diversified flora and fauna system
such as kingwood, pheasant, etc.
Ha Tinh has the costal line of 137 kilometers. It is
estimated that its fish output is 86 thousand tons, 500
- 600 tons of shrimps, 3,000 - 3,500 tons of octopus.
Ha Tinh’s tourism resources are rich and
abundant included human and natural resources. There are
five hundred historical and cultural relics in the
province of which sixty-four relics have been recognized
by the country and forty-five ones have been classified
by the province. Many tourism sites have been attracting
tourists such as Thien Cam, Xuan Thanh, Thach Hai, Deo
Con and so on.
Ha Tinh Province has its population of 1.3 million. The
team of scientific, technological cadres is eight
Doctors, one hundred Master’s degree holders, and
fourteen thousand university degree holders and skilled
workers.
Ha Tinh has a good network of transport including roads,
railways and waterways. The Cau Treo suspension bridge
is located in area of the province. The system of
seaports is connecting into a fully constituted network
of which Vung Ang deep-water port is remarkable.
Ha Tinh has an advantage of developing
general sea economy including exploiting, and processing
of aquatic products, sea transportation, import - export
activities via sea ports, etc and other accompanied
services. Ha Tinh also has other advantageous industries
such as construction materials production, mine
exploitation industry, metallurgy.
Ha Tinh is the homeland of age-old culture. Ha Tinh

working. Therefore, the people’s intellectual standard
is quite high. Nowadays, Ha Tinh has a powerful team of

Ha Tinh’s tourism resources are abundant, attractive,

types of tourism such as holiday, sea bathing, sport,
ecology, and spirit tourism. Vu Quang Natural
Preservation Zone and Ke Go Primitive Zone have rare and
precious flora and fauna system of which some ones have
been written in the World Guinness book. Tourism type
for researching revolutionary, cultural and historical
relics such as Tran Phu Memorial Site, Dong Loc
Cross-Road, Nguyen Du Great Poet Memorial Site, Chan
Tien Pagoda, etc is another advantage of Ha Tinh.
Tourists also can participate in typical traditional
festivals such as Nguong Ban festival, Chieu Truong
Royal Chief festival, etc. Traditional small craft
villages such as ship building in Truong Son, carpentry
in Thai Yen, forging in Van Chang, etc also draw
tourist’s attention.
