Noi Bai in the past and now
Noi Bai International Airport is 40 km far from Ha Noi. Noi Bai International Airport. used to be a military airport which was built for Viet Nam People’s air force to fight against the war of destroying the North by air of the American Empire. After the unification of Viet Nam (in 1975), the airport was repaired, built and became an international airport of Viet Nam. In 1995, the Prime Minister officially decided to build the international airport terminal 1 of Noi Bai International Airport. The international airport terminal 1 was put into operation in October, 2001 with the total ground area of 90,000 m2. It is equipped with modern technical systems which can serve 4,000 customers in rush hours and reach the capacity of 6 mio. of passengers/p.a. The international airport terminal 1 project is an important sudden step in the process of the industrialization and modernization of the Aviation industry of Viet Nam.
