Imperial Citadel, the most

River) to see the lifestyles
of local people in the late

Hue City Day trip with Lunch
AM: 8am pck up from your hotel in Hue. Visit the Citdel, containing the
Imperial City and the Forbidden Purple city, the Emperor's private
residence. Both were almost totally destroyed during the Tet offensive
of 1968. Visit Tuduc Royal tomb followed by HoQuyen Coloseum where the
tigers were pit against elephant for royal entertainment.
Lunch at Ythao restaurant
PM: Visit Thien Mu pagoda, considered by many as the unofficial symbol
of Hue. It is active Buddhist monastery with its origins dating back to
1601. One of its most poignant displays is a car belonging to a former
monk, who in 1963, drove to Saigon and set himself alight to protest
against the South Vietnamese regime and its cruel treating of Buddhist.
From here we embark on a lovely boat cruise on Perfume river to visit
Minh Mang tomb, in a tranquil setting of gardens and lakes.Visit to

Full Day DMZ - Vinh
Moc Tunnels
In the morning, after
breakfast, drive northwards
to Quang Tri town to view
some old battle fields of
two sides during Vietnam
war. Stop at a bullet ridden
church and at the remains of
the Quang Tri Citadel. At
Dong Ha town, take Highway 9
towards Laos, visiting some
of U.S. outposts during the
war, including Camp Carol
and the "Rock Pile".
Continue to Khe Sanh where
there is the biggest U.S.
base in central Vietnam
during the war. Proceed to
the Lang Vei Special Forces
Camp, where North Vietnamese
forces first used tanks
against U.S. forces. In the
afternoon, cross the Dakrong
Bridge to visit a village of
Van Kieu ethnic minorities.
Drive back towards the coast
to visit the tunnels at Vinh
Moc where guerilla fighters
lived and planned attacks.
In late afternoon, drive
back to Hue.

Hue, Quang Tri, Dong
Hoi, Hue
Day 1: Hue – Quang Tri
Drive north towards the former
Demarcation Zone to Quang Tri
province, stop at battle sites,
including the bullet-ridden La
Vang church and the Quang Tri
Citadel. Proceed to Dakrong
bridge to visit a Bru ethnic
minority village. In the
afternoon, drive to the Vinh Moc
tunnels where north Vietnamese
fighters lived and fought. The
tunnels are set on a dramatic
cliff top over looking the East
Sea, and are visited by far
fewer tourists than the Cu Chi
tunnels in the south. Continue
driving to a hotel at Dong Hoi.

Day 2: Dong Hoi - Phong
Nha Cave – Hue
After breakfast drive to Phong
Nha cave – a World Heritage site
recognized by UNESCO in 2003.
Upon arrival, take a boat cruise
along a river to a complex of
caves. After a short hike up the
"300 steps", explore caves with
hundreds of glisteningful
stalactite and stalagmites in
various shapes and sizes.
Continue cruising down river and
into a limestone mountain cave.
Inside the cave, guests can
leave the boats and walk through
the stalactites and stalagmites.
Return to Hue in the afternoon.

Bach Ma National Park
2days / 1 night
Day 1: Hue – Bach Ma (L,D)
After breakfast, pick up and
transfer to Bach Ma (40 km), at
the foot of the Bach Ma mountain
(1,444 m), visit the Bach Ma
National office. And then take a
car ride to the Morin - Bach Ma
Villas with panoramic views of
lagoons, sand dunes and
mountains. Bach Ma used to be a
hill retreat with 139
colonial-styled villas some of
which are upgraded with modern
facilities. In the afternoon,
accompanied by a park guide,
trek (5km) along park trails to
explore the diversity of the
local fauna and flora. O/N in
Bach Ma.
Day 2: Bach Ma - Hue (B,L)
Bach Ma, home to 330 species of
bird, is considered a
birdwatchers' paradise. If lucky
enough, trekkers can see
countless birds at close range
along the trails. Spend the
whole day trekking (7km) through
a dense jungle from the Five
Lakes to Do Quyen Falls. A
picnic lunch is served. The trip
offers opportunities to swim in
small natural lakes under
foliage and conquer mountain
cliffs along streams. Return to
Hue. Transfer to hotel. (The
best period to visit Bach Ma
National Park is from April
until the end of August.)
