City tour including Ho Chi Mi nh'
s Mausoleum and a walking tour
of Hanoi' s vibrant Old Quarter.
In the afternoon we visit the
Temple of Literature and the
impressive Museum of Ethnology. |

Day 3 : |
Mai Chau Trek

Depart Hanoi for Mai Chau and
begin trekking. The verdant and
rugged mountain scenery combined
with the colorful local
population makes this on
unforgettable experience. We
stay overnight as the guests of
an H' mong family in a
traditional long house. |

Day 4 : |
Mai Chau Trek

Today we get well and truly off
the beaten track as we trek
through tropical rain forest,
using the local tracks and
passing through cornfields as we
descend in to Mai Chau Valley.
The trek usually takes around 7
hours and is quite steep in
places. Overnight with Thai

Day 5 : |
Mai Chau - Hanoi

We trek for a couple pf hours
passing through several more
Thai hamlets on the valley
before we return to Hanoi. |

Day 6 : |
Hanoi - Ha Long Bay

|
We leave the capital for Ha Long
Bay. Once here we explore the
bay' s secluded days and
beaches. We overnight on board
our boat. |

Day 7 : |
Ha Long Bay - Hanoi

We spend the morning in the bay
before returning to Hanoi. In
the evening we board the famous
Reunification Express for our
southbound train to Hue. |

Day 8 : |
Hue (Breakfast included) |
|
|
We arrive Vietnam's former
capital in the morning. We then
have a guided tour of the
Citadel, containing the Imperial
City and the Forbidden Purple
City. |

Day 9 : |
Hue - Hoi An (Breakfast
included) |
|
|
This morning we have a dragon
boat cruise down The Perfume
visiting some Royal Tombs en
route. Later we drive up the
spectacular Hari Van Pass and
down to Hoi An. |

Day 10 : |

|
Morning orientation tour of Hoi
An' s historic old quarter. The
remainder of the day is free. |

Day 11 : |
Hoi An - Ho Chi Mi nh City

We transfer to Dana airport for
the fight to Ho Chi Mi nh City
(Saigon) . In the afternoon we
have a tour of the city ' s most
famous sights. |

Ho Chi Minh City - Cu Chi -

In the morning we have an
excursion to the famous Cu Chi
tunnels followed by the Cao Dai
temple at Tay Ninh. |

Day 13 : |
Ho Chi Minh City - Mekong
Delta

This morning we travel by road
to the heart of the Mekong River
to give us a proper perspective
of Delta. We take a boat around
the tributaries of the might
Mekong River to give us a proper
perspective of Delta life. We
stay in a local home stay

We return to Saigon in the
afternoon where the remainder of
the day is free. In the evening
we have a farewell dinner. |

What to Take :
You will be responsible for
carrying your own luggage;
therefore it is in your own
interest to pack as lightly as
possible. We suggest a main
backpack with a reasonable
daypack for the treks and day
tours. Suitcases are not
advisable for the Hilltribe &
Halong Adventure & the Vietnam
Explorer. We also recommend
strong walking shoes/boots and
sandals or sports shoes for
walking on beaches and daily
use.
Joining instructions:
As you pass through immigration
and customs at Hanoi airport you
will be met by our guide and
drive and transferred to your
hotel. |
