Mekong Waterway

This 3 day trip offers a glimpse into the agrarian life of the vibrant southern Delta region as we wind our way through the tributaries of the Mekong Delta. From our boats, we are able to closely observe the daily rituals of river life and participate in the bustling commercial activities as we buy our fruits from the floating market. Along the way, we will visit an orchard farm, handicraft village, and a land market with an abundance of colorful fresh fruits and vegetables.

Ho Chi Minh - Caibe floating market - Vinhlong - Cantho - Cairang - Phung Hiep - Mytho

 

Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City - Vinh Long This morning we set off for a drive through the Mekong Delta.. On the way we will visit the VinhTrang pagoda, see rice paper being dried and rice noodles being made. We cruise on a branch of the river and visit a fruit farm where we have a seefood lunch. Including huge prawns and Elephant Ear fish (Local delicacies from the Mekong) then we drive on to the major city of CanTho where we will be staying for two nights  at Victoria Cantho hotel . (Lunch  included) Day 2: Vinhlong - Can Tho  We leave CanTho this morning for a  visit to the less visited area of the Delta, Soc Trang. Here we will see the remnant population of the ancient Khmers who have continued to occupy this area after this region was incorporated into VietNam. (Or relax by the hotel pool) Return to the Hotel. Tonight we will enjoy the diner at the hotel. Overnight at Victoria Cantho hotel . (Breakfast and diner  included) Day 3: Cantho - Ho Chi Minh City Today we will take a boat trip on sparking streams along the endless waterway of Mighty Mekong River to Cairang floating market. There will be hundreds of boats loaded with fruits, vegetables and fish jostling for trade. Sellers advertisers their wares by crying out across the waters. We visit the lush orchards of Cantho before our drive journey to Phung Hiep bridge, right at the intersection of seven tributaries. Afternoon drive to Ho Chi Minh city. (Breakfast included)

Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City - ChauDoc
Our stour starts with a drive through the Mekong Delta to the town of Mytho for a visit to the local markets. After browing through the markets we board our riverboats for a cruise along the endless waterways of the the Mighty Mekong. One of our stops will be to Xeo Quyet forest, which was an old Vietcong stronghold during the American war. From here we will continue onto LongXuyen where we will board our vehicle for the drive to Chaudoc. Diner and Overnight at Victoria ChauDoc hotel.

Day 2: Chaudoc - Can Tho
ChauDoc town is situated close to the Cambodian border. While here we visit a bonsai before heading up to Sam Mountain for a bird's eye view over the paddy fields towards Cambodia. Once off the mountain we embark on a boat cruise along the river to visit a fish farm. From Chau Doc we drive to visit White Bird sanctuary in Thotno. Continue onto Cantho where we stay the night at Victoria Cantho hotel .

Day 3: Can Tho - Ho Chi Minh City
 We enjoy breakfast and drive to Vinhlong where we  board our private boat for a cruise  to visit Cai Rang floating market and fruit gardens in Vinhlong. We are treated to a local style lunch before our journey back to Ho Chi Minh City
